Welcome to the Skokie Amateur Hockey Association, established in 1983. The Skokie Flyers Hockey Club is committed to the ongoing development and promotion of competitive Tier II youth amateur hockey teams from the U8 to U18 age levels.
Dear Flyer Families,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 ice hockey season. We are absolutely thrilled to be back at it. In just a few short weeks, the seeding round will begin for all our teams. In advance, we would like to thank all our team managers who will be spending the morning of September 19 at the NIHL scheduling meeting. Shortly after that meeting, all seeding round games will be uploaded to our calendar and available for viewing. For your information, the NIHL seeding round will run from September 25-October 23. If you have any questions about this process, please don’t hesitate to contact your team manager.
The Skokie Flyers travel program invites all Skokie Flyer House mite players (both minor mite and major mite) to join us for our weekly power skating program on Saturdays at 7:00 am on the Skatium main ice.
The most critical skill for any hockey player is skating. The skilled skater gets to the puck first, eludes defenders, and creates extra scoring opportunities. This program will have two sessions, the first, running through November, will employ unique drills used by the United States Development Team. The extra hour of ice the player receives each week, focused solely on the art of skating, will provide long-term benefits that will separate them from the rest of the pack. We will work on edges for quick turns, balance for stability, stride for forward speed, stops and starts, and backwards skating.

As a reminder, we ask that all Flyer and Pilot families continue to follow the health mitigation requirements set forth by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Please keep in mind that masks are required while in the Skatium. We ask that all families sit together, with at least 3 feet of distance between other spectators. Additionally, when attending a scheduled game at the Skatium, we ask that spectators enter the rink no earlier than 25 minutes prior to puck drop.
